Meet Our Eye Doctors

Dr. Chen Young

Dr. Chen Young is a native to Nevada, where he was raised in Reno and graduated from Reed High School. He completed his undergraduate work at the University of Pacific with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology. He was actively involved in leadership in his fraternity, Sigma Alpha Epsilon. Dr. Young attended the Southern California College of Optometry and did his optometric internship at the Veterans Hospital in Las Vegas, Nellis Air Force Base, and the Indian Health Services in Fort Defiance. He graduated from the Southern California College of Optometry in 1995. He is currently practicing in a private Optometric practice at the Boca Park location, in Las Vegas. Dr. Chen Young is an involved member of the community; participates in the Asian Chamber of Commerce and the current Chairman of the Asian Chamber of Commerce Political Action Committee. He is also actively involved in his profession. His affiliations include the Nevada Optometric Association, American Optometric Association, and the California Optometric Association. Dr. Young is fully certified in the treatment of eye diseases and disorders. Dr. Young has three children and has been a sponsor, manager, and a coach with the Summerlin Little League for many years.

Dr. Stephanie Lee

Dr. Stephanie Lee has been a Las Vegas resident since 1976. She graduated from Western High School and attended UNLV. She graduated with a Doctorate of Optometry from the Southern California College of Optometry in 1992. She has been practicing optometry here in Las Vegas since. Dr. Lee joined Optic Gallery in 2000 with the opening of the Boca Park office. She has also been a part of our other locations at the District, Centennial Hills and the Arroyo Marketplace. Dr. Lee has enjoyed serving in local service organizations, such as the West Charleston Lions Club, the Frontier Council of the Girl Scouts, and the Blind Center of Nevada. She has participated and captained volunteer teams to Mexico to hold Eye Clinics for those in need. Dr. Lee practices at the Boca Park location and on Mondays at The District.

Dr. Steve Nguyen

Dr. Steve Nguyen graduated from the Southern California College of Optometry in 1992. He completed his undergraduate studies at the University of California Irvine in 1988, with a Bachelor's degree in Biology. He is a member of the American Optometric Association and the Nevada Optometric Association. Dr. Nguyen has mainly been in private practice since 1992, and has gained extensive experience in primary Optometric care, medical management of eye diseases, contact lenses and refractive surgery co-management. Dr. Nguyen and his family have resided in Henderson, Nevada since 2002 from San Jose, California. In his spare time he enjoys tennis, bicycling and spending time with his three kids. Dr. Nguyen practices at the Green Valley location in the District.

Dr. Roger Paez

Dr. Roger Paez is a native of Las Vegas and graduated from Bishop Gorman High School and the University of Nevada Las Vegas with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology. He was actively involved in leadership as a member of the UNLV Tennis Team, Nevada Tennis Association, and the association of Health Professionals. Dr Paez attended the Inter-American University of Puerto Rico School of Optometry and graduated in 2004. He did his optometric internships at the Kendall Eye Institute in Miami, Center for Better Vision in Boca Raton, Eye Freedom clinic in Miami, and several hospitals located in Puerto Rico. During his optometric education, Dr. Paez was Student Council President, AOA Student Leadership Award Recipient, Deans Leadership Award Recipient, and placed second in the National Optometry Super Bowl. Dr. Paez is proudly involved in his community; he participates in the Nevada Optometric Association- serving as past president of the Southern Nevada Optometric Society, American Optometric Association, and the United States Tennis Association. He has also served as an examiner for the National Board of Examiners in Optometry, and is also an associate Professor for the Inter-American Univeristy of Puerto Rico School of Optometry. Dr. Paez is board certified in the treatment and management of ocular diseases and disorders. Dr. Paez is currently practicing at the Eastern & Harmon location with his wife Dr. Nicole Yontz.

Dr. Lawrence Wang

Dr. Lawrence Wang is a native of Southern California. After graduating valedictorian of his highschool, he went on to study Molecular & Cell Biology at the University of California at Berkeley. During his college years he was actively involved in health education leadership and spent his summers doing laboratory cancer research. He completed his Doctorate of Optometry at the The Ohio State College of Optometry, where he served as National Trustee for the American Optometric Student Association. Dr. Wang is certified in the treatment and management of ocular disease and has a keen interest in dry eye syndrome. He is a member of the Nevada Optometric Association & the American Optometric Association. He currently serves as the Nevada Optometric Association PAC chairman. Aside from caring for his patients, Dr. Wang enjoys spending time with his family & two daughters, playing tennis, and is an avid competition ballroom dancer. Dr. Wang practices at the Centennial Hills location.

Dr. Larry Perez

Dr. Perez was born and raised in Albuquerque, New Mexico. He graduated from the University of New Mexico with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology and a Bachelor of Science in Biology. He was an active participant of the UNM Lobos Soccer Team. Dr. Perez attended the Inter-American University of Puerto Rico, School of Optometry where he became board certified in the treatment and management of ocular disease in 2007. Dr. Perez is a member of the American Optometric Association, and the Nevada Optometric Association. He will be working at the Arroyo Market Square. He lives in Las Vegas with his wife, Dr. Nair Borges, and his two daughters. Dr. Perez practices at the Rainbow & 215 location.

Dr. Nicole Yontz

Dr. Nicole Yontz was raised in Chicago and has resided in Las Vegas since 1993. She graduated from Bishop Gorman High School and received her Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Nevada Las Vegas. She attended the Inter-American University of Puerto Rico School of Optometry and graduated in 2006 where she became board certified in the treatment and management of ocular disease. During her optometric studies, Dr. Yontz enjoyed going on humanitarian missions to places such as the Dominican Republic to provide eyecare to patients in need. Dr. Yontz is part of the Nevada Optometric Association and the American Optometric Association. She is currently practicing at the Eastern and Harmon Optic Gallery with her husband Dr. Roger Paez. Dr. Yontz is kept very busy by her 2 young daughters.

Dr. Nair Borges

Dr. Borges was born in Ponce, Puerto Rico and was raised in Yauco, Puerto Rico. She graduated from the University of Puerto Rico with a Bachelor of Science in Biology. During her undergraduate studies, she participated in biology externship programs at University of Missouri Saint Louis and Bloomsburg University in Pennsylvania. Dr. Borges attended the Inter-American University of Puerto Rico, School of Optometry where she became board certified in the treatment and management of ocular disease in 2007. She lives in Southwest Las Vegas with her husband, Dr. Larry Perez, and her two daughters. Dr. Borges started practicing in Nevada in 2008, and practices at our Boca Park location.
