Proper eye care is important for people of all ages and regular eye exams are encouraged for everyone, but especially for those already using glasses or contact lenses. Your vision plays a vital role in your life each and every day, which is why it is so important to take the right steps for maintaining good eye health. At Optic Gallery, we focus on the patient, and are committed to providing the best treatment and options for you and your family.

Dr. Michelle T. Chen approaches eye care as both a science and a sensory experience. With a calm presence and instinctive clarity, she brings focus not just to how her patients see—but how they feel. Her practice is rooted in the belief that vision care should be personal, intuitive, and deeply attuned to the rhythms of modern life.
Dr. Chen studied Psychobiology at UCLA, where she worked in the Retina Division of the Jules Stein Eye Institute and developed an early fascination with visual systems. She earned her Doctor of Optometry degree at the Pennsylvania College of Optometry, now part of Drexel University, where she led multiple clinical leadership initiatives—including founding the Neuro-Optometric Rehabilitation Association (NORA) chapter and serving as President of the College of Optometrists in Vision Development (COVD).
Her training spans pediatric and emergency eye care, dry eye disease, diabetic eye exams, contact lenses, co-management of LASIK and cataract surgery, and myopia management for children—an area where early intervention can significantly impact long-term visual health. Her care integrates modern diagnostic tools with a wellness-forward, sensory-aware approach—designed to support not just clearer vision, but ease, comfort, and confidence in daily life. She believes in doing fewer things, exceptionally well—favoring precision, presence, and long-term care over one-size-fits-all quick fixes.
Her work is shaped by the belief that eye care should be a calm, considered experience—where design, science, and well-being meet.
Fluent in English and Mandarin, Dr. Chen has served diverse communities from local school clinics to international mission trips in El Salvador. She began her clinical career in Las Vegas, working with a local nonprofit organization that provided free eye exams and glasses to underserved schools across the city.
Her approach is marked by quiet confidence, careful listening, and a gentle precision that puts patients at ease.
When she’s not in the clinic, you’ll likely find her enjoying slow mornings in the kitchen, planning her next travel itinerary, or indulging her inner child at Disneyland with her husband.
Dr. Chen is now welcoming new patients to our newly opened Downtown Summerlin location.
